ARTIST STATEMENT

I study domestic surrealism. My work explores the theme of memory, particularly how childhood experiences influence the perception of the world in adulthood. I turn to moments from the past that often elude conscious awareness yet simultaneously shape our personal and collective identity. Drawing inspiration from everyday life, I seek to uncover the mystical and the unusual, creating surreal scenes where familiar things become tinged with absurdity.
In addition, I am drawn to the form of the total installation, where the viewer becomes not merely an observer but a direct participant in the work. I strive to create a space in which everyone can immerse themselves in my practices, feel like part of an altered reality that raises questions and emotions—an interpretation of memory and everyday life. This form allows me to create an element of generation within the work, where the viewer becomes part of the installation itself.

My projects, such as "The Melody of the Flood" (Outline Festival, 2024), a total sound installation symbolizing a neighbor's apartment flooding, represent fragments of childhood memories that I use as a metaphor. This installation immerses the viewer in a state where the flooding process becomes endless.

The theme of childhood fears and the dark corners of memory is also reflected in my installation "The Shadow Room" (Outline, 2023), where light and shadow create a narrative, becoming a metaphor for a child's fear of the dark. This work not only explores the aspect of fear but also gives rise to the characters "Umbra" (shadow in Latin), which emerge from shadowy outlines and have become a recurring leitmotif in my practice.
